如何食德好|how?

減廢
「食德好」食物回收隊會定期於區內街市及特約地點回收賣剩的食品。從市場回收到的多數是新鮮食品,如蔬菜、水果等。其餘則是快要到期的包裝食品。
所有回收的食品均會被妥善處理,不會造成堆填區的負擔。


再造
食物回收隊成員將蔬菜回收後,進行篩選和加工。其中,原好的會被製作成六餸一湯的健康低碳素食午餐,供職工盟培訓中心的學員享用,深受學員歡迎。原本非素食者的學員更會因為享用「食德好」午餐而減輕了一次午餐的碳排放,幫助減輕地球暖化。
部分食品會直接被分發至區內需要人士和其他志願團體。


再生
廚餘和品質欠佳的蔬菜則會送至有機農場作堆肥之用。肥料成熟後會回歸大地,成為其他農作物的養料。所以,只要處理恰當,廢物絕對能成為利益社區的資源。


Reduce
We reduce waste by collecting the unsold food directly from the retailers that would otherwise have thrown to the trash. The food we collect include fresh vegetables, fruits and food that are near their expiry dates.


Re-use
The food collected will be sorted and processed. The food becomes 6-course vegetarian lunch meals that are served regularly to the unemployed workers in the CTU Training Centre in Taipo.  The lunches also help to promote the idea of low carbon life style.

Some of the food will also be sent to other non-profit making organizations or those in need, saving them their already scarce resources for other uses.


Recycle
Food waste and inedible food will be sent to organic farm and turn to compost, demonstrating that even “garbage” could be useful to the environment.
